sometimes you have to lie a little
to soften the blow
and other times the brutal truth
will be truly brutal--
but generally speaking
honesty will keep you alive and intact--
unless you're consorting with criminals
and since that covers almost all of us--
silence might be better--honestly--though
it doesn't always work either--
shit!--don't talk to anyone and lie low--
(and not in the road either)
