I envy those who live in their bubbles

such fantasy soothes the ache of responsibility


they think some Merciful God will save them from themselves

while I and mine know the struggle is on us


and no it isn't easy to be aware of the gulf between

what we are and what we should be


no wonder when we reach that point of exhaustion

all we can do is laugh...
