instilled in these still-standing walls
this house built before any of us were born
and stands as we walk through
the shades of previous lives
who lived in these apartments
saundering in their places
if you stopped to think of it
you'd never bathe or take a shit again
so full of self-consciousness
but I tell you
what the hell do you think they did?
do you think no one before your birth
ever had external organs or an asshole?
get out of whatever parthenon they shove down your throat
at church or at school
and if you want to go exploring
just sit still and try to imagine
all the things in the history of the world
happened on the very spot
on which you're standing...
tell me that isn't enough of a mind-blower for you...
