never trust the facts

facts often have little to do with truth

(let's let go of the reality

of the relativity of truth for the moment...)

facts could condemn you because

they are only results and never give

an indication of the truth from which they spring

i.e. the circumstantial evidence

the easy need of the world to find a head that must roll

for their sense of justice (read: vengeance)

never trust facts

even if they support your case

because facts can be manipulated

and truth is ever inscrutable and incomprehensible

and therefore hated

because it will not cooperate with the scheming ignorance

of human mendacity and hunger for retribution

if you try to walk in truth

(even if you fail in trying to walk in truth)

beware of the facts

they have little to do with truth

as your reliance on them will show you ruefully...
