but for memories of easier times
before the weight of a lifetime's ruin
came crashing down on my hopes
pay for my sins? fine with me
I have no special 'out' to play
no trick to play or password
to a new environment
but I can't help but think there might be
some gouging going on
since no amendments we make seem to be enough
for the god of vengeance
but bosses earthly and otherwise call the shots
and we take them as best we can...as if we could do otherwise...
