I speak to the air

no one listens


no one hears...

on the one hand


I can understand

no one wants to be lectured


(even the soft advice

has an edge of rebuke in it...)


but to get one's experience

across without the preaching


is the problem

and to dismiss the attempt


outright is not the solution...

we follow our own paths


and yet we are not alone...

if we learn to listen


rather than just hear

then speaking to the air


might mean reaching someone

who's out there to receive it....
