friends I confess I'm defeated in my own mind

and when it gets to that point


you might as well jack in your ego

and take your place


in the unending chain of humanity

of bloodlines and historical facts


and realize your job was not to add

another link on the chain


but could do little else...it would take all of us

in supernatural unison to do that


best only to detach and let those whose eyes have yet

to lose their scales come around to sight at last...
