unless you're lost in endless delusion

and cannot trust any voice you hear

your conscience


never steered you wrong...

it was you who choose to heed it or not


it was you who set your own course

for good or ill


it was you who set the booby traps

and wound up wishing you had listened

to that perpetual voice

that mockingly says surprise surprise...
