more people have you pegged more than you imagine

and even if they'll never know

your inner processes

or the real reasons why you do what you do

(even if they're so real even you don't really know

what they are or why)


more people will pin you to their idea of you

because it's so much easier than to look into themselves

and see the same motivations at work

so they can confirm all the tyrannies of purity

with which we shield ourselves from some uncomfortable truth

of our unbreakable Oneness


more people than not will go the easy way and find it harder

than if they unpinned themselves and went the rockier way

to arrive where they'd go stronger and kinder than if they used

a reflection of their bitterness as a mirror

in which they could see you as you go


and find they go too...
