this quiet part of the city
where families huddle in their apartments
or some loud group of young clowns
occasionally sully the air
verbally showing their balls--
or the not-so-rare solitary walker
of pavements in any time but this one--
when they pass--it is quiet again--
even silent--the city night not even
a background of white noise--
this quiet neighbor
on an easy morning
