if all liability for living is on us

then God matters not at all but to judge


as all the selfish sins of the ego

make us rage with hate and greed


and lust and power

so too does the power to love to forgive


to have mercy and show grace

tame the ego and allow the self


its healing and growth

and its settling into its place


in the harmony

so we make it hard or easy


for ourselves
