we're in new territory now


each side of any side

rages in its wrong


and no word of reason

or compassion is heard


or even respected...


but we condemn ourselves

to our reckonings


no imaginary god does us in...

our actions and our self-judgments


are on our own heads

and our egos alone lead us


to this mass murder where

each of us will fall...or rise...where we stand...
