my pain is heavy

but it is as nothing

compared to my joy


spiritual peace

love of woman

satisfaction in the ordinary day


all these strengthened by

the daily imperfections of creation

that would tear down these joys


and destroy them

you cannot destroy

what Love has given


so if the pain of endurance be heavy

let the joy of endurance be light....
