swear vengeance

against what?


granite? gravity?

your soul?

your God?


you'll try to stand

rock hard

and not be moved


by every jolt

and as you tumble

you'll think


"I'm not tumbling"

and only you

will feel the fool


as the processes

of the universe

proceed


and only you

have been done down

only you outwitted...
