a passing thought on this and that
reminds you how quickly a lifetime can pass
each of us stunned at how slow life trudges along
and how fast in hindsight were the long years in going
a fleeting glimpse of a happening now just memory
reminds of the futility in wishing to repair
an unfixable past or fret a future that has yet to arrive
the passing thought past and the next thought here...right now....
