once the irrational ravings leave you

sorrow and regret mix

with the bitter calm

the fractured but encroaching stillness

that lets the guilts of blasphemy

(just self-hatred projected onto

some imagined notion of god)

and the pain that hurts others

as well as you (our Oneness ever involving)

but once the irrational ravings leave you

so does emptiness enter the cleaned-out vessel

to receive what consequence

and what grace will fill the soul

and what the Final Word will have to say
