in the heavens

forever is always


in the earth

all things end


this is the fact

this is the blessing


that whatever it is to which we go

there will be an end of this worldly mockery of life


do I want to find out when and where?

does it even matter at all?


it will come when it will

and it will go as it must


and we can do nothing but go along

burnished in the pure fire of passing
