all this bravado may do no good


do the right thing and it still won't be good enough

to please the One or gain any forgiveness


so hard to face the fact that the source of life

is an unforgiving asshole


but if our amendments and atonements and repentances

are truly on us then let us do without self-consciousness


let us do them purely and then see how true God really is
