ridiculous
a failing body
and a contrite regret
the spirit cannot renew it
to avail of hopes and desires unrealized
the old goat still and expert on the female ass
and all of its splendid manifestations
easy now to indulge
because said goat is out of the running
and can now let that low steady heat
warm bones and sacks and memories
and all the sense-memory they contain
as if this were all to life there is
ever faintly ridiculous....
