rage pours out through my pores
withdrawal pains
from a change of heart and mind
a new view
that acts as an inoculation
against the harm of people
and the world as it is
flushing the soul and feeling
more sinful and lost as the pus of the past drains...
cold turkey for the spirit
that sees the world clearly
and cannot believe what it sees...
and the calm afterward when rage is emptied
and regret is bittersweet....
