but the ones who rebel most brilliantly
are those who mourn
how incredible the cosmic splendor and
how incredible our ability to diminish it for ourselves--
they flare briefer than most--but ohh-how deeply
they've carved their intensity into the air itself--
that immemorial streak on the record of time--
