I've made the world safe for Masons

I've attacked the lames in their positions

I've done all I can to enlighten and inspire

but I'm faulted and failed like many another


vanity is the leading killer

of conscience and good cheer

next time you hear someone preaching at you

beat him unconscious or invite him to have a beer


either will do

all we can do is add to our woes

but that's how it goes

we mean so serious to do right and make amends


but it will never be enough granted our sad

silly simple mortal state...
