it's hard to laugh

with mud and shit

pouring down your gullet

while eons of karma

are reaped with

the simple mechanisms

of catastrophe

and the folly of humankind


but laugh I will

if all is lost

then all is found

in the simple defiance

of the human spirit against everything


including the Will of God...
