the vain shall grow compassion and concern
outside themselves
when all souls get over themselves
the fool will grow wise and feel pain
all the greater when he stops
making preaching no human has heart
enough to endure
the vain and foolish grow quiet
before the humility of the penitent
those who awoke and continue striving
to control their clumsy hungers
and know better than to think
any transformation of self will be immediate
each awakening renewed from their beds each day...
