the true Reality appears

when our minds are blunted and dull


our busy egos exhausted

and an unattended instant arises


in which all our conjecture

our fear and our greed


collapse in the stillness

of a selfless consciousness


that sees what it is

and is what it sees


such moments though rare

are plentiful enough and always near


and our gratitude should be strong enough

to be glad they appear at all...
