four years ago I started this blog

in the midst of the collapse

of my personal world

(thank you bankers hedge fund speculators

and the other greedy power-mad scumbags

who think they brutality is heaven blessed)


and in four years nothing has changed

except to get worse

the rich and powerful think

they can ride this out

their escape pods maintained and ready

for a quick getaway


there's no talking to them

no reasoning with them

as there's no way to reason with any psychopaths

so we'll fall together

they with their presumptions

and we will our knives and anger


four years on this blog and all I've done

is be reminded that human nature

will never be legislated

channelled into higher endeavors

or be convinced that its heavenly mandate

is betrayed with every self-serving notion


of righteousness

(even in their fall the powerful will

take no blame or responsibility

nor will the weak and dispossessed)

four years on this blog and all I can do

is be aware of how I've lost the ability to weep
