and we can disregard these facts and riot under the sun


or we can savor our memories of lusty earthly living

and say they were emblems of some other times now gone


and settle into the long evening of age

where all our living is alive in one transfixing remembrance


there is your choice

to detach and appreciate


or to attach and die of sins

that have already done their damage


whatever you choose goes forth with you so choose wisely

it is so difficult to know the difference between wanting live and wanting to die...
