I'm being punished

for breaking out

of the subservient role

it was my destiny to embody


I bought the lie

that we can repent and amend

and that it would matter

to the health of our souls


but instead of transcending

to the pure aspiration of reunion with the Source

it was just a common matter of "he who would

save his life must lose it"


we do what we can and love what we do

but we do not have the final say about how it ends up
