Almost Larkinian -- without the humor. But it's clean, sharp, specific. It makes me sad, but it rings true...
Scratch that, it doesn't make me sad -- I think that's just my knee-jerk reaction to the general tone/voice of much of your work. But this one isn't sad -- it's wise and clear-headed without being angry -- like you're looking at the world head-on (as I know you always do...) from the perspective of someone who's had a lot of experience and accepts it for what it is.
