I was made to play the fool
there was so much for which to atone
that I doubted every rule
and shunned what was mine alone
I did not think I was holy enough
so I disdained a religious life
and now see clergy wild with love
for flesh and gold and pride
come falling from their perches
and dropping arrogantly with no shame
they also immune to the Word that searches
still for mouths pure enough to guess the Name
and thus I doubted every rule
and thus was I made to play the fool
