done is done
and a fresh start begun
from my present station
to the same destination
I've been heading for
since I became sure
none of my effort and pain
was only in vain
there was a reason why
I had to to groan and cry
as there was some reward
in being assured
that the lesson brought joy that was needed
and continuing joy in having to heed it
