and so our suffering is just
the bread of communion at last
we all suffer under the strictures of the One
and none of us is exempt
and yet how common it is
to forget this reality
as we pursue our own ends
clinging to what we think
is "our truth" and second-guessing
a reality beyond our comprehension
that the One is an asshole at best
is a reality we must make peace with and accept
at least we know right from wrong and will strive for
for what is best despite the consequences
