maybe I wasn't the one to pass

all this commentary on to you


and that is why the One will not

let me profit from it


but I did in the name of service

not knowing what right action could be


ever ready to beat us down

in punishment but never to lift


a divine finger to help...

let God do what God will...


it's still on us to do right because it's right

not for thought of reward or fear of vengeance...


I learned my lesson and paid my price...


let God look away...I will not turn away....
