new moon won't shine

in the blaze of the sun


but hidden in that fire

is this darkened returning one


now free to re-define

the day and the night


and to give over entire

to our past's twilight flight


to be reflected in two weeks time

in the glimmer of the full moonshine

that will be when and will be where


a brightened glow will draw a stare

of bewildering comfort and some deliverance soon

one of the unending dreams for the next new moon
