I trusted that our amends would make a difference

and maybe it does in some long-term scheme

of grace coming to your service in some future incarnation here


but for the immediacy of life here in the world

it as though every good deed matters not

in some booby trap doing you in


yes I trusted but then what can you really expect

from someone who can spit and miss the ground?
