hurt in our desire
our well-meaning hope
disappointed
in the light going out
of the innocent smile
that fades so quickly
and the irreparable moment of hurting
a mark that little will remove
oh every every every fear hurting
oh every every hope hurting
is there anything in love
that doesn't hurt beyond bearing?
