what fresh start awaits
may only be the gathering
of a lifetime's efforts
toward what culmination and conclusion
that I will only comprehend
after the fact of my living
so thus the true worth of my endeavors
the authentic value for those who have received
the fruits of these efforts and affirmed their validity
is an incomplete consolation to me
who did the only thing I knew it in me to do
with value for me for the doing and value for those
who received the thing done...what fresh start may only seem
like a finish here for whose time is almost wholly past....
