taking the long view is tough

when you can't see the end of your current run

nor imagine (recall) what comes afterward...


just know this single life

is part of All That Is and all you thought

you could evade will come before you


when you least need or want it

and you weren't escaping or getting away

with anything...maybe you'll grow very old


and if you don't get tired of living in the world

and lose the thread you'll start to think

you'll live for ever...well you do and when the cord is cut


and that door opens you'll flee this life like the

proverbial bat out of hell...that long view just an always now
