well we've wrecked the world again
and dance in a frenzy even as the plates
beneath out feet start sliding again
and the tides pull back from the shore
as a mountain of water rises in the distance
and everything cosmic and vital is a hoax
and don't bother us while we're celebrating
what is really our human common doom
