we're all caught in the

gross contradictions

of creation's merciless processes


and there's no way

your conscious earthly mind

can control any move you make


without bringing more grief

down upon your self-regarding brain

your pitiful ego thinking it has a say


and so lifetime after lifetime

you struggle with the same worn-out sins

and get no further to apotheosis


than another load of karma to be paid

to a merciless Source of Life
