the soulless ones
have taken over the apparatus
you're so careful
not to put out anything you'd regret
others finding out
and it's already out there
ready to bite your ass
the moment you step out of line
and ideas like hope
and faith and perfection
all leave much to be desired
when all you can do is be grateful
when everything's peaceful because
no one's looking for you...
oh Orwell got it right
the wrong ones got control
and it isn't so much that
the bad guys won as it is
there are no good guys...
