and now to start all over again...
because I thought I knew better
in my delusion of a life
I'm told God is patient and merciful
but I know it's until patience and mercy
run out...and then we stand with our burdens
like someone who got to the dock
in time to see the ship pull out and set off...
and now to start all over again...
thinking only of 'might-have-beens'
with the occasional joyous memory
popping up in mind
to remind us in wasn't all in vain
and it is on that that we start over again...
