oh how would devastated I would be

if I had to be without you

in this harrowing of the earth

this long-foreseen apocalypse

that has always been here

and is now in our awareness

now that our awakening

is finally here


on the other side of the veil

either of us

will be a beacon to the other left on this side


I don't think

I could continue

without that certainty...
