it's way too difficult

for your simple scared existence


you'd rather others did the heavy lifting

of thought and decision


you'd rather let others rule your life

and when they fail you


and you're worse off than you were

you'll boil and fume


and stalk your rooms throwing cups

at mirrors and kicking over chairs


blaming your betrayals on those

for not looking out for you


when it's only you who've failed yourself

but that is the one thing you won't believe...
