now the hurt hater gives up

his personae of a clownish Satan

but nonetheless a Lucifer

all the more clownish for his

lack of a sense of humor...


now this sorrowful mass

of pathetic want raving

at others as though he were

looking in a mirror

or or launch blasphemies


at his own false idol


now this contrite spoiled child

learns again the language of confession

on his tongue pleading forgiveness
