how much has been wasted in shame and loss
is equal in one who counts all cost
the idea that redemption could be achieved
is something that one finds unable to be believed
so one dies in one's passionately clung-to grief
thinking it transcendence and not mere relief
and how much has been wasted in confidence and hope
is equal the vastness of one's imprecise scope....
