I'll have the help of God

instead of getting the brunt

of His vengeance--

the hope is that one day

I'll know the love of God

instead of the fullness

of His wrath--

the hope is one day

I'll feel the grace of God

instead of feeling the force

of His fist--

the hope one day is to awaken

from my delusion of hope

and be certain of my power

to submit to mercy

the mercy is one day

is to do without hope

and to be myself

in such certainty as God allows...
