I may be tempted

to tell you truth


but to you it'd be lies

and an attempt then moot


to bridge

unbridgeable worlds


around which our rivers

of incomprehension curl


so I'll save myself

the useless try


and you'll be spared

the need to examine why


let fearful waters divide us

each on our banks of no trust...
