and even here God is merciful (somewhat)--
since the wicked do not believe in God
at the end of time they will be blotted out
as if they never existed
and since they expect that to happen at death anyway
they will not be disappointed--
they will not be anything--
detached sadness of the saved observing
in the hardness of truth
