to focus actively on others--
to celebrate their uniqueness--
to be at one with a program of kindness--
but tomorrow will be a day
when vows will change--
and earth will reassert--
isolation--sameness--and ennui--
tomorrow I'll be in a changed world--
charged awareness scouring
ramshackle ruins for ghosts of the fearful
clinging to their plots--
tomorrow new vows--
to admit life as is--
to realize essence in each waxing and waning form--
to prize the peace unknown to our ordinary minds
